Quite the literary delight: photo recap of the 2015 Texas Book Festival

The 20th anniversary Texas Book Festival wrapped up last weekend, and our minds are still swirling from all of the literary excitement, fan girl moments, epic discussions, authors, and unforgettable experiences. It was a tremendous weekend of readers, books, words, and pictures.

We listened, we lunched, we mingled, we rocked, we biked, we kayaked, we read, we threw our hands up in the air—and all in all, had the best time one can have while working! Although the 2015 Texas Book Festival is past, we are re-living the literary extravaganza through photos.

Starting first thing Saturday, we woke up early to do yoga with Festival authors Neal Pollack, Catherine Lacey, Elisa Albert, and Meera Subramnian at the Capitol.

We mingled with some of our favorite writers at the Author’s Welcome Breakfast.

First stop: sharing our Festival story!

Next stop: grabbing some of our favorite new books by Festival authors in the Barnes & Noble Book Selling Tent.

First session of the day: Margaret Atwood in the House Chamber. (Check out some of the infinite literary wisdom she divulged during her panel here.)

Then, we climbed a tree on the scenic State Capitol grounds to find the perfect reading nook.

Latina trailblazer and children’s author Pat Mora was honored with the Festival’s Texas Writers Award and landed a brand new pair of cowboy boots.

And Lemony Snicket blew our minds!

We stopped to take another selfie.

Then headed over to the Children’s Tents for some crafty activities, readings, and fun.

We hit up the late-night Lit Crawl Austin for some nighttime shenanigans.

… and of course the YA ghost stories in the Texas State Cemetery.

And then on Sunday, we did it all over again.
