Maudie’s Moonlight Margarita Run and Party benefiting The Trail Foundation is June 8

Maudie’s Moonlight Margarita Run and Party benefiting The Trail Foundation, the nonprofit organization that protects and enhances the Ann and Roy Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail at Lady Bird Lake, will take place Thursday, June 8, at its new location at the former Seaholm Power Plant.  The Run and the Party are separate ticketed events; both beginning at 8 p.m.

The Maudie’s Moonlight Margarita Run began in 2004 to bring together two of Austin’s favorite things — running and margaritas! The event is the largest annual event for The Trail Foundation and raises critical funds for projects on the 10.1-mile lush, urban path in the heart of Austin.

More than 2,000 runners are expected for the 14th annual event, a 5K that will begin at 8 p.m. along Walter Seaholm Drive and travel the streets bordering the lake. The finish line will be at Sand Beach Park, and the Party will take place on Seaholm’s Great Lawn. Tickets and more information are available at www.thetrailfoundation.org/MMR.

The Party, a separate ticketed event, includes margaritas and dinner by Maudie’s Tex-Mex under the stars and lights of downtown Austin, complete with music and dancing, and a pop-up shop by active lifestyle brand Outdoor Voices.

Tickets for the Run only are $35 and include an event T-shirt, a margarita at the finish line for all runners 21 or older, and race timing. Tickets for the Run and Party are $100, and tickets for the Party only are $70. Prices will increase starting June 5.

The new location can accommodate more guests, and organizers hope to exceed their fundraising goal of $100,000 as a result.
