Why staying in is the new going out: Emancipet’s Sit Stay Day
Emancipet’s popular Sit Stay Day allows Austinites to help provide care for pets in need by enjoying local treats in the comfort of their own home!
Each Valentine’s Day-inspired Sit Stay Day kit contains gourmet food and drink items, gift cards to local hot spots, assorted pet treats, and other goodies donated by Austin-area businesses that are assembled into 250 kits and delivered to Austin-area homes and offices on Friday, Feb. 9.
Returning for its eighth year, Sit Stay Day kits are chock-full with some of the best local goodies Austin has to offer. At the heart of each kit are the ingredients for a delicious pasta dinner from Whole Foods Market. The kits also include sweet treats from Crema Bakery; a six-pack of Shiner beers; Love Child Popcorn Mix (caramel corn with peanuts, dark chocolate, and mini marshmallows) from Irene’s; ‘nibbler’ squares from SRSLY Chocolate; locally-roasted coffee from Texas Coffee Traders; various KIND Snacks; Texas-grown olive oil from Texana Brands; flatbread crisps from Primizie Snacks; and Tito’s Handmade Vodka; among MANY others.
Sit Stay Day kits can be ordered online at emancipet.org/events/sit-stay-day now through Feb. 8 (while supplies last) for $175 each including delivery in the Austin area. Quantities are limited to 250 kits each year, so people are strongly encouraged to order early before they sell out.
The money raised helps Emancipet provide affordable, accessible spay/neuter and veterinary care to pets in need. Emancipet served nearly 100,000 pets in 2017, providing quality veterinary care to families regardless of their ability to pay, ensuring that pets can stay with the people who love them.
They’re the perfect for a romantic Valentine’s Day with your sweetheart, or you can order two and enjoy a ‘buddy night; with your closest friends. They also make great gifts for friends, family members, co-workers, and clients. The best part is that your money goes to a great cause and helps serve pets and the families who love them.
In addition, Bouldin Creek Cafe will donate five percent of their proceeds to Emancipet on Feb. 9, and Confituras Little Kitchen will donate 10 percent of their proceeds to Emancipet on Feb. 10.
